You are about to start decorating for the holiday and have just collected artificial wreaths and garlands you kept away last Christmas. You intend to clean your wreaths and garlands after hanging them for a couple months. Follow these steps to get your piece cleaned up and ready for the year’s work.
Needed Materials
- Handheld vacuum cleaner
- Dishwashing Liquid
- Microfiber cloths
- Buckets
Procedures
- Steadily clean each branch using the handheld vacuum.
- Then use the microfiber cloth to gently wipe each branch. This is going to take some time trust me, it’s worth it.
- Repeat the same step for your garlands and leave them to dry. You can spread them outdoor if they are designed for outdoor use or use and hairdryer to speed up the process.
- If your artificial wreath and garlands are pre-lit, carefully remove the lights before you commence cleaning.
For a lazier approach, place both wreaths and garland in a bathtub or sink and spay with warm water. Then air them. Do not do this if your wreath or garland is pre-lit. Check products warranty policies to ensure these methods are not against the guidelines.
How to store Artificial Wreaths and Garlands
Don’t use the original box! By now the boxes are probably old and can no longer protect the wreaths and garlands as they should.
Use storage bags or containers. Use storage bags regardless of their type. Go the extra mile to keep your artificial wreaths and garlands from dust and dirt. Cover them in clean white paper then store them in the storage containers.
Compress the Branches. Gently compress the branches of your artificial wreaths and garlands before keeping them away.
Blow away the specks of dust and dirt on your artificial wreath and garlands before storing them.
